Call for Presentations
Do you have a topic you're passionate about? Share your knowledge with the community! We're looking for speakers who want to share insights about free software, open source and open data.
We especially encourage local speakers to submit proposals – your experience from Bergen and the region is valuable!
Presentation formats
Lightning talk (10 min)
Short and concise. Perfect for introducing a concept, showcasing a project, or sharing an idea.
Talk (20-30 min)
Go in-depth on a topic. Ideal for technical presentations, experience sharing, or project walkthroughs.

- Free software and open source
- Open data and data visualization
- Open source projects you contribute to or have started
- Tools and technologies for developers
- Privacy and digital freedom
- Projects and learning experiences (related to OSS)
- Community and collaboration in open source
Important dates
- Application deadline
- August 15th
- Speaker confirmation
- September 1st
- Final presentation deadline
- October 1st
We review submitted proposals on a rolling basis. By September 1st, we will have contacted and confirmed speakers. Confirmed speakers must submit their final presentation by October 1st.
Submission requirements
There are three important dates for submitting talk proposals:
August 15th – Application deadline
By August 15th, the following must be submitted:
- An abstract explaining what the presentation is about (ca. 5–6 sentences)
- A ready presentation in PDF format (optional)
- A link to a recording of a previous talk you have given (optional)
September 1st – We contact speakers
By this date, we will have contacted and confirmed speakers.
October 1st – Final deadline for confirmed speakers
All confirmed speakers must submit the following by this deadline:
- Final presentation in PDF format. This is what you will be presenting at the conference.
Evaluation criteria
We use the following aspects as guidelines in evaluating presentations:
- How relevant is the topic to our core values?*
- How current is the topic?
- Expected interest among the audience
If a presentation is attached:
- How insightful is the angle on the topic?
- Does it have a message? What is the underlying message?
- How inspiring is it? How engaging is it?
- Does it contain any practical/real-world implementations?

- We review all proposals on a rolling basis
- You will receive a response by email
